Obituary

Anne F. Facchina, 68, passed away on April 27, 2004. Anne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Herbert A. L Facchina, and by two sons, Herbert A. Facchina Jr. and his wife Catherine, and Dr. Stephen L. Facchina and his wife, Lori; as well as three daughters, Christine Spicer and her husband Robert; Ellen Butters and her husband Michael; and Diane Facchina Romanek and her husband Broc.
Mrs. Facchina is also survived by a brother, John Arch, and by seven sisters: Isabelle Shatlock; Dorothy Mueller; Jean Connolly; Marie Wiehagen; Sr. Carol Arch; Judy Peters; and Clare Gillis.
Mrs. Facchina's surviving grandchildren are: Lance Kandl; Matthew Spicer; Brian Spicer; Sarah Spicer; Katie Butters; Michael Butters, Jr.; Danny Butters; Maggie Butters; Isabella Facchina; Dominic Facchina; Quinn Romanek; and Griffin Romanek.
Mrs. Facchina was a graduate of Mt. Mercy College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia. She was employed at The Washington Home in Washington, DC as Head Nurse until she retired. She was named Nurse of the Year in 1990. One of 12 brothers and sisters, she enjoyed her family greatly.
Anne will be remembered by all as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia, on Friday, April 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 1st from 11: 00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church 9151 Elys Ford Road, Fredericksburg, Virginia, on Saturday, May 1st at 2:00 p.m.
