IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Raymond
Macri
September 19, 1938 – April 30, 2025
Anthony "Tony" Raymond Macri passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, at the age of 86 surrounded by family and holding the hand of his beloved wife of 64 years, Janet. Together they built a life filled with love and shared memories. Born on September 19, 1938, in Des Moines, Iowa, Tony was the cherished son of Antonio and Lucrezia (Grispo) Macri.
Tony's life was a journey marked by dedication, love, and community. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before earning his bachelor's degree in marketing from Drake University. His professional career spanned over three decades with Parker Amchem Henkel Corporation, where he rose to the position of National Sales Manager. His leadership and commitment left a meaningful impression on colleagues and clients across the country.
Throughout his career, Tony and Jan built a life rooted in love and shared adventure. Their journey together took them to many homes—from Des Moines, IA to Naperville, IL to Ambler, PA to Troy, MI—before settling in Virginia. In each place they lived, they cultivated lasting friendships and memories.
In August 2001, Tony retired and they moved to the Fawn Lake community in Spotsylvania County. There they found joy in the serenity of resort-style living and the view from his back porch overlooking the 8th hole. Retirement brought simple pleasures that Tony relished: rounds of golf with friends, lively poker games, leisurely cruises around the lake, neighborhood gatherings filled with laughter, and breakfast meetups with "the guys." These moments reflected his warm spirit and deep appreciation for camaraderie.
Tony's greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife Janet; daughters Diane (Sean) Mahoney and Kelli (Chris) Brenner; grandchildren Christopher "CJ" Brenner, Emily Brenner, Allison Mahoney, and Rachel Mahoney; as well as his special niece Claire Jo Crnic and many other nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.
A funeral mass will be held on May 22, 2025, at 11:30 AM at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Elys Ford Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.
May Tony's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.
