Barbara Ann (Bird) Cappellini, 70, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home.  Barbara was born to James Franklin and Juanita Virginia (Gibson) Bird on November 19, 1948 in Washington, PA.  After graduating from Waynesburg H.S, she began a long career in banking for 45 years.  Her career in Waynesburg, PA culminated in a position as a Vice President with Community Bank.  Barbara moved to the Fredericksburg area in 2000, and concentrated on home mortgages with local banks and ultimately with Bank of America.  She had been very active in civic organizations while in the banking industry.

Survivors include, her son, Chad; two brothers, William Bird, Donald Bird (Barbara); her sister, Betty Tharp (Rex) and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Nancy Moore, and Ethel Mae Phillips.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 11 am to 1 pm, with funeral services beginning at 1 pm, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with Pastor Perry Forrester officiating.  Interment will follow in Laurel Memorial Park.
