Barbara Ann Blankenbaker Nibblins (affectionately known as Grandma), 67, of Lake Anna, VA, passed away after a brief illness at UVA, on Saturday, November 7, 2015. She is now at rest and peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Barbara was born on May 16, 1948 to the late Floyd Fields and Eliza (Lindsay) Blankenbaker and resided in Woodberry Forest, VA. She married Robert H. Nibblins on March 1, 1975, and he preceded her in June 1999.
Barbara was employed for 33 years, until her retirement, at Ridgid Products in Orange, VA.
She was a member of the Craigs Baptist Church in Spotsylvania.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Charles (Fontella) Nibblins; 2 daughters: Lisa (Dennis) Kirby and Neta A. (Shurn) Davis; brother, Floyd Wayne (Kimberly) Blankenbaker; sister, Ethel Mae (John) Walker; 6 grandchildren: Calvin Williams, Gequetta Davis, Jawuan Nibblins, Yasmin Davis, A1C Theron Davis (USAF, Korea), and Quincy Davis, brother-in-laws, Walter H. Nibblins and Lewis Smith Sr., sister-in-laws: Josephine Pogue, Mary L. Wise, Edna Nibblins, Rosie (Jerome) Mallory, Landonia Bannister, Katherine Nibblins, Ida B. Nibblins, Deloris (Edward) James, Georgia Ann (Julian) Evans, Mary Nibblins, and Estelle Carter and a host of other relatives and friends. Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother, James Carter and sister, Hazel Campbell. She loved The Lord with all her heart and never met a stranger. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the companionship of her two fur-babies, Rex and Peanut.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home with funeral services held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Craigs Baptist Church, Spotsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in her honor to Craigs Baptist Church, 14123 W.Catharpin Rd, Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
