Barbara "Bobbie" Palombo of Spotsylvania passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Culpeper Hospital. After her birth on November 11, 1954 in New Jersey, Bobbie and her family moved to Virginia. As a young woman, she attended Old Dominion University where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She went on to graduate from ECPI in Norfolk, VA with a degree in computer programming. After living in New York for many years working at IBM, Bobbie moved in 1998 to Spotsylvania where she worked at SWIFT as a customer support analyst.
Bobbie loved animals and was an avid dog rescuer, working with Bully Paws Pit Bull Rescue. As their volunteer coordinator, she worked tirelessly to find forever homes for these special dogs. Believing that every dog deserved a good home, Bobbie also adopted and fostered both young and old dogs, giving them the care, love, and training they needed. She was also a good and loyal friend.
Survivors include a sister, Deborah Whitehead and her husband Randolph of Louisa, a brother, Keith Constable and his wife Rachel of Gloucester, and a sister of her heart, Patrice Murphy of Locust Grove.
