Barbara Ann Todd
January 17, 1936 - October 31, 2022
Barbara, who lived in Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was born in Kingwood, West Virginia to Regina & Joseph Fletcher.
Raised with her seven siblings preceding her in death were Edward, Gertrude, Clarence, and Sara. She leaves behind the twins, Paul & Pauline and the baby, Martha.
She met and married her New Hampshire sailor, Richard "Dick" Todd and moved to Washington, DC to begin her career in Nursing and to raise their family. They were happily married for 57 years prior to Dick's passing in 2014.
Together they raised six children, Mark (Lesley), Susan (Greg Lucas), Gregory (Kathleen), Timothy (Shelly), John (Cindy) and MaryBeth (Scott LeClaire).
Barbara enjoyed being a grandparent to nine wonderful grandchildren, Samantha, Holly, Jeremy, Ashley, Zach, Cameron, John, Sergey and Axel, as well as three great grandchildren, with one more on the way, Luke, Harper and Ruby.
She dedicated her life to her career as a Registered Nurse for several decades at many hospitals in the Washington, DC area beginning with Providence Hospital, where all of her children were born. She worked in many different units in these facilities including geriatrics, emergency care, ICU, dialysis and in-patient nursing. She absolutely loved and embraced her role as a nurse and was revered by patients, staff, peers, and physicians.
Barbara Todd, RN was the epitome of the perfect nurse.
In her retirement years she & Dick moved to Locust Grove, Virginia. There she enjoyed her family and friends. After Dick's passing she moved into Harmony at Falls Run, where she made many friends and became known as the Queen of Games and was a legitimate "Card Shark".
She enjoyed her new life there until October 31st, when the Good Lord called her home to join Him, Dick, and all who went before her into the Land Of the Living; the Everlasting Resting Place in Heaven.
We ALL love and respect the BATLADY and will never forget her love.
