Bennie Ray Short, age 78, of Rhoadesville, Virginia passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2024 in his home. He was born September 29th, 1945 in Virginia, the son of Bev Short and Trula Short(Shortridge).

Bennie was a local business owner and opened his own business Short Food Mart. He married the love of his life, Edna Margaret Adkison. Bennie had many hobbies and interests including hunting, fishing, mowing his grass, and he loved watching Judge Judy. He also had a collection of antiques that he treasured.

He was predeceased by his brother Donnie Short, and son Benny Ray Short Jr. Surviving in addition to his beloved wife Edna Margaret (Adkison) Short, are several grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephew, and his brother Ronnie Short.

A visitation for Bennie will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday, February 16th at 12 pm. A funeral service will be held thereafter at 1 pm, followed immediately by a graveside service at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
