Berman James Meadows (Age 90)

(July 29, 1931 – August 16, 2021)

Berman James Meadows of Locust Grove, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021. Born in Crab Orchard, WVA, and a proud graduate of Marshall University, Berman served in the U.S. Army and later worked as an accountant for the Department of the Navy. He loved traveling, fishing, hunting and farming. He enjoyed cheering on the Redskins, the Nationals, and the Wizards. He knew how to enjoy life as he sat on his front porch and watched the world go by. He loved his family and was very active in his church. He is survived by his loving wife Tootsie C. Meadows, daughter Pamela Francis (Tim), son Berman James ("BJ") Meadows, II. (Jean), brothers Frederick Meadows (Nancy), David Meadows (Janice), Victor Meadows (Sara), sister Nola Turner, sister-in-law Betty Meadows, grandchildren Tim Francis (Michelle), Ryan Francis (Candace), Tammi Bonacorda (Patrick), and Melissa Alvarez (JR), seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Phyllis Cook Meadows, his wife of more than 50 years, his parents Victor Noel and Donna Mae Meadows, his brothers William "Farmer" Meadows and Gilven Meadows and sisters-in-law Nila Meadows and Margaret Meadows.

Relatives and friends are invited to Berman's visitation at Chancellor Baptist Church, 11324 Gordon Rd., Fredericksburg, VA 22407 on Tuesday, August 24, from 10 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania, VA at 12 PM.
