Obituary

Betty Lou (Hockett) Ginn, 82, of Spotsylvania, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 as the result of an auto accident in July 2018.  Betty was surrounded by her loved ones at the home of her daughter, Dana Eckler.  Betty was born on April 22, 1936 in Washington, D.C. to Robert E. and Grace L (Johnson) Hockett.  She was married to John Kline Ginn.  Betty had worked teaching preschool children for many years and was a member of the Salem Fields Community Church.  Survivors include her daughter, Dana Eckler; son Jack Ginn; seven grandchildren, Robert Eckler (Leeanne Kratzer), Ashli Eckler-Wolfrey (John), Brad Ginn (Jordan), Mathew McCoy, Andrew McCoy, Cory Eckler (Kierstin Brooks), Emily Ginn; seven great grandchildren, Kyleigh Eckler, Kenzie Eckler, Camron Fleckenstein, Lane McCoy, Maison Wolfrey, Kaliah Kratzer and Malakhi Wolfrey.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Kline Ginn, Sr., daughter, Debra "Debbie" Ginn; Granddaughter Makayla Carter and daughter-in-law Brenda (Shumaker) Ginn.  Visitation will be held on Saturday February 9, 2019 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home from 6 pm to 8 pm, and funeral service in the chapel on Sunday February 10, 2019 at 2 pm with Pastor Buddy Marston officiating.
