Betty J. Moore, "Nannie", passed away at home on September 13, 2022. She was born January 10, 1937 in Weston, West Virginia, daughter of the late James and Icie (Abel) Burkhammer.
Betty loved traveling and spending time with her family. She leaves behind countless cherished memories.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her dear husband and life partner, Pete E. Moore, her granddaughter, Misty Dawn Freeman, her grandson, Cody Lee Wells, her sister, JoAnne Moore, and her brother, Jimmy Burkhammer.
Surviving are her loving daughters Debra Stevens of Orange, Barbara Jo Freeman and her husband David, of Locust Grove, Joyce Wells and her husband, Jr., of Stafford, Marla Dent and her husband, Jeffery, of Locust Grove; her beloved grandchildren, Dennis Stevens Jr., Wendell Ray Jr., Misty Hatcher, Dakota Dent, Matthew Freeman, Willie Freeman; and her precious great grandchildren, Amber Stevens, Gemma Hatcher, Jade Hatcher; sisters, Brenda Page of Thornburg, Dreama Barrows of Bradenton, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty will be laid to rest at 10 AM Saturday Oct. 1, 2022 at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Rd. Spotsylvania, VA, followed by a celebration of her life at 6 PM at 7020 United Lane Locust Grove, VA 22508.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
