Bradford Lance Keeler, 75, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at his home in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn and Mildred, by two brothers, Stewart and Douglas, and by his beloved first wife, Akiko. Brad is survived by his loving family: wife Estelita and daughter Abigail, both of Fredericksburg; son Alex, of Tacoma, Washington; granddaughter Alannah, of Puyallup, Washington; sister Joan, of Franconia, Virginia; brother Dennis and sister-in-law Vonnie, also of Fredericksburg; as well as a large extended family across the United States and within The Philippines.
Born and raised in Binghamton, New York, Brad developed an early fondness for geography and world cultures. His 20 years active service in the U.S. Air Force took him to Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Japan, where he met his first wife, Akiko. Retirement took him to Tacoma, Washington, and subsequently to The Philippines, where he met his second wife Estelita. The two ultimately settled in Virginia with their daughter Abigail.
Brad deeply loved his family and possessed a wealth of friends from around the world going back many years. In retirement he continued to travel widely, throughout Asia and Australia, across Europe and into South and Central America. He never tired of exploring new countries, learning new cultures, and making new friends. A lifelong Christian and a man of faith, he was a member of Church of the Messiah in Spotsylvania, Virginia. He loved to read and was an excellent cook, although food was known to "accidentally" drop on the kitchen floor to the delight of the family dog, Sparky.
Brad will be laid to rest on May 21, 2025, at Quantico National Cemetery, alongside his fellow service men and women, as well as his late brother-in-law Jim. In lieu of flowers any donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
