Brenda Ann (Shumaker) Ginn, 50, of Fredericksburg, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on Monday, May 4, 2015. Brenda was born on October 3, 1964 to August Junior and Joan Carol (Weiderin) Shumaker in Pensacola, FL. At a young age, she moved to Stafford with her parents and has been an area resident since. Brenda graduated from North Stafford High School. She married John (Jack) K. Ginn on January 10, 1998 in Fredericksburg. Brenda taught preschool at the Peace United Methodist Church for over 4 years, and provided respite care.
Survivors include: her husband, Jack; 3 sons; Andrew Michael McCoy, Matthew Ryan (Jessica Taylor) McCoy, John Bradley (Jordan Ashley) Ginn; daughter, Emily Ann Ginn; her father, August J. Shumaker; brother, Eric Gus (Sharon Yvonne) Shumaker and Grandsons Cameron Ginn, Cohan Moody, and Layne McCoy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 7, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home and Funeral Services held on Friday May 8, 2015 at noon, at the funeral home, with Pastor Travis Pauley officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
