Brian Bernard Smith, 79, Locust Grove, Va., suddenly passed away on December 21, 2022.

Brian was born in Patrickstown, Kells, Ireland. He moved to New York City as a young adult and worked as a bartender for many years. He and his wife Barbara moved to Virginia in 1996, and lived in Fairfax until their move to Lake of the Woods in 2013. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Brian and Kate; sisters, Sr. Veronica and Kathleen; and brothers, Bartle and Larry. Brian is sadly missed by his wife, Barbara; brother, Nick; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and cousins. Brian will always be remembered for his charming brogue, his gentle nature and love of gardening.

A funeral service will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, with the family receiving guests an hour prior.
