Carole Cudney Woods, 79, of Lake of the Woods, passed away Tuesday July 12, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, at home.
Mrs. Woods was born on December 19, 1931 in Tarrytown, NY, the daughter of the late Bernard and Theresa Cudney. She was a graduate, in 1954, of Our Lady of Good Council, White Plains, NY, worked with the CIA for many years, was an active member of the Susan Allen Republican Womens Club at Lake of the Woods and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Fredericksburg. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" W. Woods, her two sons and their wives, Charles G. Woods and Melissa of Manassas and Brian E. Woods and Jennifer of Millersville, MD. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Meagan Nicole Woods, Adam Christopher Woods and Blake Johnson, two sisters, Mary Ceccolini of Courtland Manor, NY and Patricia Flood of Smithtown, Long Island, NY. She was predeceased by her two sons, Christopher and Brendan Woods and by her brother, Michael Cudney and her sister Constance Ferchaw.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday July 14, 2011 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Fredericksburg. Rev. Ronald Gripshover will officiate. The family will receive friends THURSDAY evening at Laurel Hill Funeral Home from 6:00pm-8:00 pm. Burial will be 10:00 am Friday July 15, 2011 at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle
