CDR George Raymond Perreault, U.S. Coast Guard (Ret.), of Locust Grove, VA, passed away peacefully at VCU Massey Cancer Center in Richmond, VA, on Sunday, February 27, 2022. He was born in Auburn, New York in 1946. The eldest son of three brothers and one sister, he grew up in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He is the loving husband of Judith Suzanne Meyer Perreault; devoted father of Thomas James Perreault (Kristine Dorothy), Daniel George Perreault (Holly Lee), Jared William Perreault (Judi Michele Gilliland), and Justin Earl Perreault (Kristi Jean); cherished grandfather of Kyle Nathan, Tyler Jack, Andrew Christian, Nicholas Clark, Kerrigan Lee, Samantha Lynne, Sophia Danielle and Annabelle Jean Perreault; brother of Thomas Leon Perreault (Judith Ann), and Deborah Anne Fontaine (David Gerard). George is preceded in death by his parents, Jennie Sally Hermanski Perreault and George Vinal Perreault and brother, Vinal Richard Perreault.

He served 22 years and retired from the United States Coast Guard in 1990 and worked as a software engineer in the DC area at Harris Company for 17 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, and Knights of Columbus in which he was a current 3rd degree member of Council 10246, former Grand Knight of Council 9259 from 1994-1995 and author of Home to Mars. Nothing was more important to George than Faith, Family, and Charity.

Relatives and friends are invited to George's visitation at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania, VA on Wednesday, March 9th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Eleys Ford Rd. Fredericksburg, VA following visitation at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the Mass at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
