Cecil Lenoir Maxwell, 79, of Spotsylvania passed away on March 2, 2018 at Fredericksburg Health and Rehab after an extended illness.  Cecil was born on December 22, 1938 in Mt. Holly, NC to Louis Cecil and Minnie Pauline (Ballard) Maxwell.  He married Mary Elizabeth Madden on August 9, 1956 in Fairfax, Va.  He worked as a self employed builder and brick mason.  They moved to Spotsylvania county in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; four sons; John Lee (Joanna), Brian Keith (Lori), Joseph Preston (Emily) and Jason Shane Maxwell (Michelle); two daughters, Mary Cecilia Louise Rood, Lenoira Elizabeth Joy Maxwell Cooper (Jeffrey); sister, Patricia Lepore (James); 17 grand children and 17 great grandchildren.  Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, son, Cecil Edward Maxwell; and two brothers, David and Ronald Maxwell.
