Charles R. Ayers
Charles Robert Ayers, 69, of Locust Grove, passed away Saturday June 30, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Ayers was born on November 10, 1942 in Commerce, GA, the son of the late Charles William and Alma (Minish) Ayers. He has lived in Lake of the Woods for the past 10 years and was formerly of Tuscaloosa, AL. He was a retired US Army Veteran with over 29 years of service to our country.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Ayers, his son and his wife, Charles Scott Ayers and Keri of Mechanicsville, VA, his daughter, Stacey McKinney of Locust Grove, his four grand children, Cody D. McKinney, Logan McKinney, their father, Lucas F. McKinney, Megan E. Ayers and Charles B. Ayers.He is also survived by his sister and husband, Lynda and Don Townley of Dawsonville, GA.
Funeral Visitiation/Services will be from 9:30 till 11:30 am Monday July 9, 2012 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania, VA. Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday July 9,2012 at Quantico National Cemetery.
