Charles William McCabe 96, of Fredericksburg Virginia passed away on Oct. 4, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Charles was predeceased by his loving wife Julie Slade McCabe who passed in 2013, his oldest daughter Jennifer Marino and his sisters Louellen, Janet & Margaret.
He leaves behind his daughter Jeannie Dwyer Silvious and her husband Jim Silvious with whom he lived in Fredericksburg and his daughter Heather Moran and her husband Patrick Moran of Grafton, MA, his stepsons Jeffrey Lassell and his wife Ann of Fort Myers, FL. Jac Lassell and his wife Nina of Sturbridge MA, his stepdaughter Cynthia Merchant and her partner Rene' Robledo of Northborough, MA.
He leaves behind six grandsons, Michael Dwyer, his wife Joni and eight children Collin, Maison, Isaac, Simon, Owen, Harper and step children, Owen and Olivia. His grandson Sean Dwyer and his four children, Tyler, Holly, Emily and Sariyah; His Grandson, Scott Dwyer, his wife Janel, and seven children, Morgan, Grant, Berkeley, Zuri, Griffin, Grady and Oakley; His Grandson, Evan Dwyer and his wife, Kristina, and four children, Kylie, Taylor, Addison, and Emerson; His grandson, Alex Marino and his daughter Madison, and grandson Nick Marino. He leaves his two granddaughters Jaime Merchant, her children Rebecca and Jacob and Kristen Ferrante, her husband Dennis Ferrante and their children Gianna and Danny. He also leaves his step granddaughter Celina, and her husband James Dosado, and their four children, Kayla, Elizabeth, James, and Madison.
Charles McCabe was dearly loved by all his family, and his family meant everything to him.
He served in the U. S. Army for three years, during WWII, between the years of 1943 to 1946
Charles was born in Framingham, Ma. March 15, 1922 and raised in Wellesley, the son of the late Leslie and Faith (Brown) McCabe. He graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor's degree in Music, in Boston, Ma. He taught elementary school in Massachusetts and Maine, and was greatly loved by both faculty and his students.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3 PM at Laurel Hill Funeral Home.
A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 4 PM, in the Club House, at Wilderness Presidential Resort, 9220 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, Va. 22553
