With sadness and love, we regretfully announce the passing of Charlotte Ann Barrett, 74 , of Fairfax, Virginia who died September 23, 2021 , after surviving her late husband of 52 years , Robert Neal Barrett.

Charlotte began her Secretarial career working at the Department o f Agriculture followed by the United States Census Burea u. When she and family moved to Clinton, Maryland in 1977 she was hired at Miller & Web ster law firm until relocating in 1997 to Fairfax, Virginia to retire and live her final years at home.

Charlotte, AKA Char Char , found joy in so much. She always enjoyed the family camping trips, cookouts during the summer months , and watching the Olympic ice skating . When the NFL season started she was front and center tu ning in to Sunday games. She loved chatting on the telephone with family and friends and having a good debate at times about politics or pop culture entertainment until she sat down to watch Dancing With The Stars with a bowl of ice cream . The Christmas se ason was her favorite holiday and s he loved all the holiday de cor and making cookies .

Charlotte is also predece ased by her parents John and Doris McMullan and her sister, M aureen McMullan. She leaves behind three adult children ; Sandra Overman (Dean) of Nokesville, VA, Brian Barrett of Burke, VA, Brad Barrett of Fairfax, VA and extended family and friends . She regretfully leaves behind Keira Maureen Overman (13), her cherished granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations to Old Dominion Eye Foundation (ODEF). Each year over 40,000 Americans have their vision restored after undergoing a corneal transplant. Charlotte ' s donated corneas will help restore another' s vision .

Funeral Service and inter ment will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery, 305 US Ave., Culpeper, VA. 22701 on Wednesday, October 27th at 12PM.
