IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte "Sherri"
Faye Kenski
October 30, 1944 – September 10, 2025
Charlotte Faye Kenski was born on October 30, 1944, in Dora, Alabama, to Charles Newby Thomas and Evelyn Nix Thomas. As an "army brat," Sherri spent much of her youth traveling the world, including attending high school in Orléans, France.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Charles Thomas, and her sister, Pamela Jarvis. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Lawrence Kenski; her daughter, Madeleine Herndon (Liz); her son, Timothy Ball (Lauren); her brother, Tom Thomas; her grandchildren, Lilla and Colton Ball; her niece, Kendall Thomas; and her nephew, Jack Thomas.
A lifelong animal lover, Sherri was rarely without a furry companion to spoil. Her gentle spirit extended to children as well—she was known for her kindness, warmth, and nurturing heart.
Sherri began her professional life in banking but found her true calling later in life when she opened a daycare in her home. Working with children brought her immense joy, and the families she cared for became an extended family. Many remained close to her throughout her life, a testament to the love and care she gave.
Sherri was a devoted member of Annandale United Methodist Church, where her faith and friendships flourished. She actively participated in outreach programs such as the Lydia Circle, Vacation Bible School, and the Morning Prayer Circle. Her church family was a source of deep joy, and she cherished the many meaningful relationships she built there.
