Chester Arthur Wakefield, Jr., 58, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Roanoke, VA, passed away Monday February 20, 2006 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Wakefield was a graduate of Liberty University, a Marine Corp veteran, and work for 30 years as a Sales Representative for Yellow Pages. He loved fishing, golf and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Cline Wakefield, his two sons and their wives, Carey A. Wakefield and Lynette, of Fredericksburg and Chad A. Wakefield and Sonia, of Phoenix, AZ, his mother Irene Hoy Wakefield of Crimora, VA, his brother, Scott N. Wakefield, of Crimora, VA and his two sisters, Elona DeWitt of Waynesboro, VA and Jill Mullins, of Crimora, VA, his four grandchildren, Katarina, Cailey, Colby and Cheystin Wakefield. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester A. Wakefield, Sr. and his brother, William (Bill) Wesley Wakefield.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. Rev. Al Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
