Daniel Francis Plant, 65, of Locust Grove, passed away Wednesday September 21, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Plant was born in New York City on May 6, 1946, the son of the late Francis Xavier and Marcella Plant. He was a member of the Optimist Club, the Lake of the Woods Swim team, the Lake of the Woods Volunteer Rescue Squad, the Eastern Orange Athletic Association, The Orange High School Swim Team and a recipient of many awards for his faithful volunteering. He was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Spotsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Danielle Ann Plant, his three sons, Christopher Gary Plant and his wife Jessica, of Philadelphia, Francis Paine Plant of Barcelona, Spain and Daniel Sean Plant and his fiance, Valerie Hoang of Richmond. His daughter, Deborah Shannon Plant of Charleston, SC. He is survived by two grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Plant.
A Funeral Mass will be conducted 10:30 am Monday September 26, 2011 at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania.
