Obituary

David Allen Kellison, 80, a longtime resident of Spotsylvania County and faithful servant to the Lord, was carried back to God's loving embrace on August 2nd, 2024. Well-known for his strong sense of humor and friendly nature, David's love and devotion to God and Country was evident in everything he did.

David was born and grew up in Virginia. As a young man, he enlisted in the Navy and became a Navy Seabee, serving five campaigns in Vietnam and traveling to over 30 countries worldwide. Once leaving the military, David was a Class-B Contractor who created his own construction company. He was heavily involved with Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Spotsylvania, where he worked extensively with Evangelism, and was the President of the Methodist Men.

David is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois Kellison, his sister, Janet Lewis, and his brothers, Grayson and Stephen Kellison.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diann Kellison; sister, Nancy Swain; brother, Tommy Kellison; sons, Drew and Daryl Kellison; daughters, Donna Harper-Johnson, and Dana Kellison; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., August 12th, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. A service will be held on August 13th, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with a graveside service and reception to follow.
