David Martin Pearson, 18, was called home to the Lord on May 11, 2012 at his home in Fredericksburg, VA after a 20 month battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. David was born January 15, 1994 in San Diego, CA. He is survived by his father Mark Steven Pearson and wife Susan of Fredericksburg, Va. His Mother Amanda Whitley Haddock and her husband Richard of Witchita, Kansas. Sister Austin Pearson of Fredericksburg, Step-sisters Kinsley Haddock of Wichita, Kansas, Katie Henshaw of Richmond, VA and Kelly Henshaw of Fredericksburg, VA, one step-brother Briston Haddock of Wichita, Kansas. Maternal Grandmother Charlotte Lawrence and her husband Dale of Northport, Alabama, Maternal Grandfather George "Bob" Whitley and his wife Janet of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Maternal Great grandmother Pauline Elmore of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Paternal Grandparents Milo "Doc" and Joyce Pearson of Alabama. David's memory will live on in the hearts of the family and friends who loved him.
David was a graduate of Stafford High School Class of 2012. While in school he participated with Link Crew, was a member of the National Honor Society, manager of the JV Soccer team and an aspiring chef. He also inspired the formation of the Spotless Mind Club for Brain Cancer research. Most importantly, David will be remembered for his warm, inviting smile and his desire to put others' feelings and needs above his own right up to the end.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, 1717 Rhode Island Avenue., Washington, DC 20036 or The Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation, Inc. 20312 Watkins Meadow Drive, Germantown, MD. Funeral services will be at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home in Spotsylvania at 3PM on Tuesday May 15, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, May 14 at the funeral from 5 PM until 8 PM. There will be a Celebration Reception after the funeral service (5:00 pm) at Conway Elementary, 105 Primmer House Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405. The reception will have displays with David and friends, foods that he liked (and didn't like), and a video/photo show of David's life.
