Diane Burleigh, 65, of Spotsylvania died Tuesday April 21, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Diane attended Drexler University before she embarked on a 30 year career in Real Estate. As an agent with Weichert Realty Diane had an energetic personality that allowed her to be one of Fredericksburg's premier realtors. Numerous awards were bestowed upon her out of respect from other local realtors. Through Diane's passion for her work and the people she served she truly became "part of the family" when searching for the perfect home for them. With great ease, she brought joy to the lives of others and worked to become everyone's best friend.
Diane also enjoyed many other things outside of her work in real estate. Being with her children and her grandchildren was something she truly loved. She liked to spend time working on genealogy, collecting antiques and was an avid gardener. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Diane is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael Burleigh, one son, Matthew Burleigh and his wife Anoula, one daughter, Megan Blake and her husband Aaron, her grandchildren Zachary, Valarie, Jeff and Richard and one great-grandchild Haley. She is also survived be her sister Karan Bunn and her husband Ike as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
An informal service to celebrate Diane's life will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday April 25 in the Chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service.
