Diane Marie Dumas, age 53 of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, passed away Friday, November 21, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Born January 31, 1955 in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of Laurier R. and the late Marie V. Cabana Dumas.
Diane was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth, MA, amd Kinyon-Campbell Business School in New Bedford, MA. An accountant and bookkeeper, she enjoyed quilting, needlecrafts, cooking, and canning.
In addition to her father, Diane is survived by her two children, Melissa A. Posey and her husband Bryan of Spotsylvania; Christopher M. Leathe and his fiance, Stephanie, of Fredericksburg; granddaughter, Alyson Posey; sister, Lucille Parkinson and her husband John of Fairfield, CT; brother, Roger Dumas and his wife Sue of Eastham, MA; her former husband, Michael Leathe of Washington, DC. Numerous other family members and friends also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Taylor serving as the Celebrant.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:30am till 12:30pm at the funeral home.
