IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Lawrence
Perry, Jr.
August 19, 1952 – August 6, 2021
Donald L. Perry, Jr. (68) passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Perry, Sr., mother, Ola Compton Perry, daughter, Ashley Ann Perry and mother-in-law, Emma Enoch. He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Norma Perry, son, Donald Perry, daughter-in-law Katrina, grand daughters Violet and Taylor, father-in-law Norman Enoch. Three sister-in-law's, one brother-in-law and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Don and I have been married for forty-one years. We have survived throughout the years because no matter what life brought us, we figured it out together. We have suffered tragedy as well as had great joy. One such joy is the form of a little four-year-old. She loves her Nana, but Pop Pop was her buddy, and he was at the top of her list. He was head over heels in love with her as well. Don dedicated his life to his family, his country and to the fire service. Always loving and want to help those in need. He had a unique and special bond with his son. He was so proud when he chose to follow in his footsteps as a firefighter and prouder still of the husband and father he has become. His father-in-law was his best friend, his daughter-in-law he thought of as a daughter, sister-in-law's as sisters, brother-in-law as a brother. My family was his family. His passing is a great loss for us all. His easy going manner, quick wit and good humor, just knowing you can call and say, "Don I need help can you give me a hand?" and knowing the would be there. I'm not sure how to survive without him after so many years, he would want me to try and I will with the help of family and close friends. We are comforted by the fact that he is no longer suffering and after more than nineteen years his little girl Ashley is in his arms again. He is the lucky one while we are left to pick up the pieces. Great loves only come around once in a lifetime and I was lucky enough to be with mine for more than forty-one years. I already miss you and will until my last breath. I love you.
