Donna Lee (Lawrence) Davis, 73 of Fredericksburg passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, with her loving family by her side.
Donna was born on October 24, 1941 in Alexandria, Va. She graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas, VA. She met Doran Richard Davis, Sr. while she was attending beautician school and they were married on March 24, 1962 in Rockville, MD and they made their home in Manassas. They moved to Tifton, GA in 1968 and then to the Fredericksburg area, in 1983, where Donna began working at the Prince William Hospital. She went to work for the Prince William County School System in 1990 and retired in 2000 due to her health.
Survivors include her husband, Doran; sons; Doran Richard "Rick" Jr. (Vicki), James Lyman (Yvonne); daughter; Tamara Lee Adkins (Chris); 2 brothers; William Lawrence (Jeanette), Danny Lawrence (Cathy); 3 sisters; Patricia Woodward (Freddy), Carol Chapman (Gary), Cathy Lawrence (Jerry); 9 grandchildren; Tiffany Thurmond (Dustin), Chase Embrey, Amber Adkins, Alyssa Adkins, Lora Davis, Ricky Davis, Jake Davis, Jocelyn Davis, James Davis and 1 great granddaughter, Ava Elizabeth Thurmond. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Virginia Lee (Brown) Lawrence.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with funeral services held on Friday March 13, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
