Dorin Motz, 75, passed away on August 2, 2023, at home with his family. He was born on May 29, 1948, in Arad, Romania, the son of Simion and Maria (Ban) Motz. Dorin graduated from High School in Arad, Romania, in the class of 1969; while in high school, he worked as a machinist. Following graduation, he went on to study at the University of Bucharest where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in English in 1975. In 1974, he married Maria in Bucharest, Romania. Dorin was the father of three children, David, Esther, and Joseph. His family immigrated to the United States in August 1977 with two young children and had their 3rd soon after; there, he started his own typesetting business in Portland, Oregon. Dorin dedicated his life to the Lord and translated over 70 books from English to Romanian. Fluent in English and Romanian he worked as a written and spoken language translator. He moved to Fredericksburg in 1992 where he lived the rest of his life. Dorin is survived by his wife and two sons. Memorial services will be held in Spotsylvania VA at the Laurel Hill Memorial Park on August 9th, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
