Dorothy Irene Ludovico, 77, of Locust Grove, VA passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community in Culpeper, VA. Dorothy was born on Sept. 5, 1935 in Buffalo, NY to Ben & Irene Elizabeth Schuster Penner. Dorothy married Leonard Ludovico on Jan. 5, 1956 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage this past January. She received her nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo in 1956. Dorothy was a Registered Nurse, working for many years for St. Francis Hospital in Buffalo and in private nursing. She was a member of the Garden Club of Buffalo, Deaconess Hospital Alumni Association and was especially active in the Home Bureau of Amherst, NY. Survivors include: her husband, Leonard of the home; 2 sons: Leonard "Len" Ludovico of Stafford, VA, and Philip "Phil" Ludovico of Springhill, FL 1 brother: Ben Penner, Rochester, NY 1 sister: Judy Barillari, Wake Forest, NC 3 Grandsons: Alex, Andrew & Nicholas 1 Granddaughter: Madison Nieces: Elizabeth Paner & Nicole Barillari Nephew: Thomas Barillari A Service of Remembrance will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, VA on Saturday Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. with Chaplin Denise Vogt officiating.
