Dorothy Ruth (Metz) Smith, 87, of Mineral passed away on Friday Feb. 21, 2014 at Charlottesville, Va. Ruth was born on May 30, 1926 in Germantown, MD. She married Luther Jacob "Luke" Smith on April 17, 1943. Ruth retired after 35 years with Crestar Bank. Ruth and Luke lived at Lake Anna 25 years.
Survivors include: 3 sons; Jack (Gay); Daniel (Marie); Michael; 1 Daughter; Joyce 8 grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Luke, in Oct. 2012.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 1 pm, with the funeral service at 2 pm, both at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations to the SPCA 10819 Courthouse Rd. Fredericksburg, Va 22408.
