Duval Andrew Brooks, 86, of Fredericksburg died Friday December 1, 2006 at Greenfield Senior Living of Stafford.
Mr. Brooks was born on Dec. 21,1919 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Robert and Estelle (Almond) Brooks. He was a WWII Army veteran stationed in the Philippines; he was a retired operating engineer with local union #77 and was a member of the South View Methodist Church in Lynchburg. He will be missed by all.
He was the devoted husband of Anice Mathis Brooks for 65 years, the devoted father of Linda B. Long and Cindy DeBruhl and her husband David, all of Fredericksburg, the exceptional grandfather of Teresa Davies, Courtney Shomo and Lucas DeBruhl, great grandson, Rob Davies, step-grandchildren, Robert Long and Luanne Maples and their children, Zachary, Brittany, Morgan, Jordan and Trish. He is also survived by his two brothers, Robert Brooks and Phillip Brooks both of Lynchburg, his sister-in-law, Marian Brooks of Lynchburg. He is pre-deceased by his four brothers and sisters, Loreane Jamerson, Clara Millner White, Arthur Brooks and Shirley Brooks.
A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
