Obituary

Dwight Leander Mottet, 82, of Lake of the Woods, passed away at Chancellors Village on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
Dwight was born on April 3, 1935 to Oscar J. and Rose A. (Pavelka) Mottet in Columbus Ohio. He completed a Master of Science Degree in Management, and joined the US Air Force, serving from January 1958 to March 1969. Dwight married Janet Frances Parisi and she preceded him in death. He retired from the Department of Energy; moved to Locust Grove, where he was a co-founder of Friends of the Wilderness Battle Field and Rappahannock Valley Civil War Round Table, and was active with the L.O.W. Civil War Study Group, AARP, St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Matthew Catholic Church, where he served as a Lector.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church Spotsylvania, on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Father Paul Eversole officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park with military honors.
