Dwight Wayne Rose, 79, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne lived a life of service to his country and community. He is a Vietnam veteran, having served four years in the Army and doing one tour of duty in Vietnam. He then went on to a successful career in law enforcement, serving a combined 35 years with Fairfax County Police Department and Fairfax County Sherrif's Department.
Wayne was devoted to his family. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He loved spending time with family and would captivate us with his wonderful story telling. Wayne enjoyed old classic country music, hunting, fishing and bird watching from his favorite chair on the back porch.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Rose, son, Mark Rose (Valerie), daughter Cindy Rose, step children, Matthew Harrison (Joanna), Jacob Harrison (Sommer) and Rebecca Cox (Brandon), seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers, Mike Rose (Elizabeth), Steve Rose (Donna), sister, Carol Wolfinbarger (Gary) and sister-in-law, Kathy Rose. He is predeceased by his parents, Irvine and Marie Rose and brother, Jeff Rose.
A Memorial Service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, February, 28, 2026 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA 22553.
Wayne will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Richmond, KY at a later date.
