Edna Margaret Adkison Short, age 85, of Rhoadesville, Virginia passed away peacefully on March 11th, 2024 in her home. She was born April 18th, 1938 in West Virginia, the daughter of Willie Allen Adkison and Nema Gertrude Adkison (McClure).

Edna, alongside her husband, were local business owners who opened Short Food Mart. She married the love of her life, Bennie Ray Short. Edna had many hobbies and interests including hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, and swimming.

Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bennie Ray Short, daughter Patsy A. Mason, and son Benny Ray Short Jr. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as by her sibilings, Drema and Dottie.

A Visitation for Edna will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Monday, March 25th at 10 am. A funeral service will be held thereafter at 11 am, followed immediately by a graveside service at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
