IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward Gerard
Dihlmann
January 31, 1954 – April 16, 2025
Edward Gerard Dihlmann, age 71, passed away on April 16, 2025 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredencksburg, VA. Born on January 31, 1954 in Queens, NY, Ed lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family.
Ed was the son of the late Henry and Josephine Dihlmann and brother to the late Fred Dihlmann.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Anne Dihlmann (Smith), his two children, Donald Dihlmann and Haley Dihlmann, his grandson Hayden Mauck, as well as many loving cousins and friends. Ed knew no stranger and had the gift of gab making him a successful salesman. His most recent sales job was selling copiers and other office machines for Stone's Office Equipment. He truly loved sales and excelled at it.
Ed loved God, his family, friends, the New York Yankees, Jimi Hendirx, golf, horse racing, and the color purple. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, VA, and his children attended school there. In the early 2000's he joined the Catholic Business Network of Central Virginia and through that organization he co-founded St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Fredericksburg. His love of God, his faith, and Catholic education were always very important to him.
Ed was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and he always put them first no matter what. His grandson, Hayden, was the apple of his eye and he beamed with love and joy anytime they were together. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and the love he gave to all.
