Edward G. "Eddie" Blevins, Jr., 68, of Locust Grove died suddenly Mon. July 15, 2013 in Fredericksburg. Eddie was born on July 5, 1945 to Edward G. and Joan Presto Blevins in Philadelphia, PA. He was educated in Virginia Schools. He married Deborah Lynn Kimble in June 1999, and moved to Locust Grove the same year.
Eddie worked for 35 years for the Fairfax County Waste Water Treatment Division, retiring in Aug. 1999.
Survivors include: his wife Debbie of the home; son, Edward George Blevins, III, stationed in Greece; daughter, Dawn Beck of Albuquerque NM; 2 brothers; Rodger Blevins and Bruce Blevins and wife Cindy;
2 sisters; Nancy Woolls and husband Steve and Michelle Dudley; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Eddie was especially close to Debbie's family, Parents-in-law Glenn and Alice Kimble, Terrie "T" Creed and Stephanie Creed and her two brothers Glenn and Bob and their families.
Visitation will be held Friday July 19, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with Entombment services held at 11:00 a.m. in the Laurel Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eddie's name to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org or 1400 16th Street Northwest #410 Washington, DC 20036.
