Edward "Ed" James Luebkert, 84, of Fredericksburg passed away at his home on Saturday July 28, 2018 with his loving family at his bedside. Ed was born on November 22, 1933 in Pittsburg, PA to Carl G. and Mary (Malloy) Luebkert. He entered the US Army in December 1950 and spent over a year in Korea, earning the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze service Stars, UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged on December 9, 1953. Ed married Delores Aileen Armstrong on November 14, 1953 and they were the proud parents of Victoria, Dennis and Tracey. Ed was employed in electronics and retired as an electronics supervisor for Universal Dynamics. He and Delores moved, from Alexandria, VA to the Fredericksburg area, where he then worked for over ten years at the Marshal Center in Spotsylvania. Ed was a Life Member of the Spotsylvania American Post 320. Survivors include his wife, Delores; son, Dennis (Sonya); daughter, Tracey Sheedy (Michael); 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and his sister, Dolores Thompson (Carl). Ed was preceded in death by a daughter Victoria Harrison and two grandsons, Chris and Dylan. Funeral Services will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday August 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with family receiving friends for one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Spotsylvania American Legion Post 320 or Christ First Ministries, 4811 Carriage Way Ln. Fredericksburg, VA 22408 for the purchase of Gideon Bibles for distribution in Ed's memory. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, with military honors.
