Elizabeth C. Bennett, 82, of Partlow, VA passed away suddenly at Spotsylvania Medical Ctr. on Friday, January 23, 2015. Elizabeth was born on August 8, 1932 to John Tax and Sarah Elizabeth (Lowrey) Thodos in Alexandria, Va. She married Frederick Helyer Bennett on Nov. 7, 1948 in Alexandria. They lived also lived in Fairfax, Colonial Beach and finally moved to Partlow, VA in 1987. In 2000, Elizabeth was baptized into the St. Matthew Catholic Church as Catherine Elizabeth Bennett. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Elizabeth was a stay at home mom, caring for their 8 children. Survivors include: 3 sons; Frederick H. Bennett (Sharon), John E. Bennett (Tammy), James R. Bennett; 5 daughters; Deborah A. Beeman (Richard), Theresa C. Blankenship (Wayne), Patricia L. Moon, Jennifer Lynn Struder, Barbara D. Kirby (David); 1 sister; Dorothy Combs, 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband; Fred; 1 granddaughter; Catherine Elizabeth Hill, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home and funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 11 am, with her family and friends commenting on Elizabeth's life.
