Celebrating the life of Mrs. Elizabeth Peter (Gill) née Daniel
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household" Acts 16:31
Our mum Elizabeth was born in Lahore on 8th December 1938. She completed high school at Kinnaird School and continued her studies at Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore.
She studied further to become a qualified teacher and gained teaching qualifications which destined her to become a year 6 teacher at St. Lawrence School. It is there she met our dad Peter John Gill. They fell in love and got married in 1965. Immediately after they settled in Amrit Nagar (33 Chuck) District Khanaywal where she became live-in-mum to her several brothers-in-law. Mum continued teaching in the local Christian school in addition to being fully responsible for a large family-in-law.
After returning to Lahore, mum and dad were blessed with four children, Ambar, Alia, Amir, and Imran. She continued her teaching responsibilities at St. Lawrence School and retired in 1998. During the course of her teaching career spanning over 40 years, she taught thousands of middle school children. She introduced Jesus to children by her acts of kindness, prayers, and devotion; spoke openly and freely about her faith and the Word of God to many thousands, and coached children with key life skills as well.
She was a devout Catholic and believed in the power of prayer. She lived a modest life and was committed to her faith and purpose. Everyone who came to know her will agree that she showed us all the true meaning of being a Christian and how to balance social, civil, and religious responsibilities. Her actions reflected her words and to this date, we have not known anyone who can say they hold a grudge against our mum. She was an active and profound worshipper at St Mary's Church Gulberg, Lahore. She moved to Virginia, the USA, to be with her children in 2015.
She raised and educated her children well and by the grace of God Almighty survives in her children and grandchildren as follows:
Ambar
Alia
Amir
Imran
Danzel
Sharen
Zion
Joshua
Eliza
Joel
Rielle, and

Also,

After a great fight with COVID-19, she left this world on the morning of Friday, 11th February 2022. She rests in eternal peace and we believe she is shining bright in the company of angels and saints. She is and shall always be the great and legendary 'Mrs. Peter' who touched many lives. She was a great mother, an obedient wife, an excellent teacher, a caring friend, and a profound missionary in her own right. She accomplished the unthinkable by maintaining all her relations, and duties with dignity and pride. Her service to her children, family, relatives, friends, and community will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace 'Mrs. Peter' our beloved and darling mum. We are not worthy to reach your level of excellence, but, we pray that we may see you in paradise, your new home with the company of angels.
God bless your soul Ami Jee. Rest in peace mama, life will never be the same without your physical presence. Farewell until we meet at our time of departure from our earthly lives. Have a safe journey home to our Lord, Amen.
"Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love" (Mother Teresa)
