On Monday, September 30, 2024, Ellwood Brown peacefully transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly one. Born Ellwood Brown in Culpeper, VA, On May 20, 1958, he was the son of the late William O. Brown and Carrie Lee Brown. Ellwood attended Culpeper County Public Schools and graduated from Culpeper High School.

He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lignum Virginia from birth to most of his adult life. He lived a vibrant life, enjoying his favorite pastime of watching westerns, Good Times and The Jeffersons, listening to music, talking about cars and trucks, dancing, playing BINGO, spending time with family and friends, laughing and joking. Most importantly Ellwood had a love for the Lord. He attended Wednesday night Bible Study at Heritage Hall and loved helping people.

Ellwood's first job at the age of 16yrs old was at Culpeper County as a custodian for 12yrs. He also worked at Bright Farms, formally known as Willow Run Greenhouse in Elkwood, VA. for 6yrs. Ellwood then worked with his nephew Peter Tyler for his company  Tyler Hardcore Tree Service for 3yrs off and on.

Throughout his life, Ellwood held many cherished roles: he was a loving devoted son to the late William O. Brown and Carrie Lee Brown, a loving little brother to Rebecca Tyler (deceased), William Brown (deceased), James Brown (deceased), Samuel Brown (deceased), Lacy Brown-Smith (deceased) and Viola Brown. He was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Ellwood's tenacity, kindness, helpfulness, sense of humor, pureness of heart, and boundless love will forever remain in our hearts.
