Elwanda McGrew, age 70 of Spotsylvania, died Monday January 21, 2008.
Born in Pangburn, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Newton W. and Blanche Bartlett Rose. Mrs. McGrew worked in civil service as a management analyst. She was an avid reader, and loved gardening. She brightened her neighborhood each year with her fondness for holiday decorations.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Paoletti and her sister Arlene Bartlett.
Survivors include two sons, David A. McGrew of Maryland and Michael W. McGrew of Richmond, daughter Dianna L. Sommer of Gloucester, five grandchildren Shawn Drew Benford, William Philipp Sommer, II, Robert W. Paoletti, Daniel C. McGrew and Lily McGrew-Wood; three great-grandchildren, Kendrick Benford, Kenneth James Anderson, Nicholas Drew Benford, and sister Rebia Joyce Berletich of Scott Depot, WV.
Funeral service to be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday January 26, 2008 in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, with Pastor Kenneth Cramer officiating. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 25, 2008 between 9:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
