Erlene Marie (Fletcher) Palmer, 88, of Unionville, VA passed away Thursday morning, February 8, 2018 with her husband, Walter by her side. Erlene was one of eleven children born to Thornton Lenwood and Ellena McClara (Peacher) Fletcher in Spotsylvania County. She attended Belmont School in Spotsylvania. Erlene married Walter Allen Palmer on September 9, 1953, celebrating 63 years this past September.
She enjoyed life to the fullest, singing, playing guitar, dancing and cooking. Mostly her joy was in caring for her husband and girls. She has been known as a second Mom to many area kids and a beloved friend. Survivors include her loving and caring husband, Walter; and daughter, Susan M. Palmer; son-in-law, Timothy E. Morris . Erlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Faye Morris and her ten siblings. Memorial services will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Laurel Hill Funeral Chapel with family receiving friends one hour prior.
