Byrd Jr.
February 12, 1963 – March 13, 2023
Floyd Aaron Byrd, Jr. was born on February 12, 1963. He was born to
the late Floyd Aaron Byrd, Sr., and Elizabeth Greene Byrd (Liz). Floyd was
born in Washington, DC; however, raised in Alexandria, Virginia. He was
educated in the Alexandria City Public School System. As many are aware,
Floyd was a proud veteran club member of the Wheels of Soul,
affectionately known as Boss Byrd.
He loved his children more than anything in his life. Each one of them
was his pride and joy. He coached football & basketball, creating many
cherished memories, not only for his kids but for many kids of the
community. He cheered and encouraged his daughters in various sports
such as band, cheerleading, basketball & swimming competitions.
On Monday, March 13, 2023, God transitioned Floyd from this life to his
eternal resting place. He was preceded in death by his parents & one aunt,
Barbara Ann Diggs (late Thomas Diggs). Floyd leaves to cherish his
memories, 2 brothers - Anthony D. Byrd, Sr. (Tina), Bobby J. Byrd, Sr.
(Omega) 1 sister - Ta'Sheba I. Jackson (Shondra). 9 children - Floyd A.
Byrd, III (Trey), Donnell Minor, Rondell Minor (April), Terry L. Byrd, Aaron J.
Byrd, Dennis R. Byrd, Tanesha C. Fullilove-Boulden, Travon C. Byrd, &
Tariq C. Byrd (Floyd's mini-me). 4 grandchildren, Rondell Minor, Asia Minor,
Carter A. Byrd, & Jessiah A. Byrd. 3 aunts - Delores Medley (late Rudy
Medley), Juanita Harris (Richard Harris), Wanda Neal (late Dennis Neal), &
1 uncle Tui Muse (Angela Muse). Additionally, holding Floyd's memories
dear, the 4 Mothers of his children, Natalie Gaston, Queenie Jennings,
Carla Murphy (ex-wife), & Shemone Fullilove. Lastly a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends that love him.
The family thanks you, Ms. Regina Carter, for ensuring Floyd's children
receive his prized possessions, in particular his treasured motorcycle &
jewelry. A note from Regina to Floyd, reads below:
"Floyd A. Byrd Jr. (aka King Boss) The light and love of my life. You
will always be in my heart. Although your life was cut too short, we
will be together again my King, forever yours, love Gina."
