Foster Gene Taylor, 69, of Spotsylvania, passed away on Friday July 5, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Gene was born on Sept. 23, 1943, in Alexandria, Va. to Foster Witt & Ruby Estelle Snead Taylor. He married Loretta Ann Stewart on June 7, 1963, in Alexandria, Va. & they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Gene worked for over 18 years at Virginia Roofing. He was self employed for a few years, before joining Noll Roofing, where he later retired. Gene & Loretta made their home in the Fredericksburg area in 1976. They are members of Faith Baptist Church, Fredericksburg.
Survivors include: wife, Loretta; son, Aaron (Lisa) Taylor; daughter Sheila (Gary) Miller; brother, Gary (Barbara) Taylor; sister; Roxanne (Mike) Cook; 3 grandchildren Jessica, Jacob & Riley; nieces Ashley, Emily, Courtney, & Ruby & many loving friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother & 1 sister.
Visitation will be held Sunday July 7, 2013, from 4 to 6 pm, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, and funeral services will be Monday July 8, 2013 at 11 am, with Dr. Don C.
