Frances Jane (Cropper) Heflin, 81, long time resident of Stafford County, passed away peacefully on Monday February 25, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Frances was born on April 18, 1937 to George and Ella (Pitts) Cropper.  She married Ralph Milo "Pete" Heflin, Sr. in June 1953 and celebrated their 60 ^th anniversary before Pete passed away in 2014.  Frances served as a Stafford County Deputy for several years, before she and her husband began two businesses located in Stafford, H & H Auto Repair and H & H Trucking.  Together, they owned and operated the business for 35 years.  Frances and Pete enjoyed traveling.  She loved to go to flea markets to search for antiques.  Frances especially enjoyed collecting dolls.  She was such a loving and caring mother, grandmother and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.  Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Frantz (Fred) of KS; sister, Christine Garrett; brother Leon Cropper; eight grandchildren, Shawn Heflin (Tammy), Bernice Smarr, Heather McCormick (Richard), Josh Heflin, Matthew Heflin (Helen) all of Virginia, Joe Blondolillo,  Fred (Aubry) of KS, and Erika Seward of CA; fifteen great grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Bradley, Morgan, Megan, Joshua Jr. "LJ", Cora, Matthew Jr., Ellie, Joanna, Kira, Henry, Gabby, Fred, and Justin.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Ralph "Pete", sons, Ralph M. Jr., Milo F., Bernard W. and twins, Larry and Gary.

Visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday March 1, 2019 beginning at 9 am to 11 am, and funeral services beginning at 11 am with Mr. Don Hughes officiating.  Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
