Gene Covert, 73, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Mr. Covert was born July 11th, 1940, in Washington, DC. He retired in 2006 after thirty two years working for Bill Page Honda, in Falls Church Virginia, and worked his way from apprentice butcher to meat manager in an additional career with Giant Foods.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, an avid fisherman and music lover. His first passion for fast cars and motorcycles remained a part of him for his entire life, and was eclipsed only by his love of his family - most importantly his children.
Gene was known for his generosity and his unfaltering selflessness in helping others. He touched many and never asked for anything in return. While he always put his family before himself, he also never failed to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.
When spending time with Gene, there was never a chance for a lull in the conversation. He always had an interesting story to share, and could make a friend in any room.
His legacy will be the values, integrity, work ethic, and devotion he instilled in his family and friends. He took great pride in their many accomplishments and will be an inspiration for many more to come.
Survivors include his wife Elaine Covert of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter Terri Good and son-in-law Richard Good of Fredericksburg, VA; son Jeffrey Covert and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Covert, of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter in-law Teresa Navo of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren Christopher Good, Timothy Good, and Elizabeth Good of Fredericksburg, VA; Jason Covert, Michael Covert, and Caden Navo of Charlottesville, VA; Nico Covert and Ian Covert of Fredericksburg, VA; and great-grandchildren Morgan Good and Logan Good of Fredericksburg, VA; Aiden Himeon and Jacob Himeon of Fredericksburg, VA; and Mason Good and Blake Good of Alexandria, VA; and brother Robert Covert.
