Gene Allan Parris, 74 of Fredericksburg, Va. passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013 at Mary Washington Hospital after an extended illness.
Gene was born on Jan. 2, 1939 to Verlin R. and Annie H. Spriggs Parris in Washington County, Va. He married Shirley E. Dinsmore and she survives.
Gene retired from Fairfax County Water Authority after 27 years and he and Shirley moved to the Fredericksburg area. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time with his family.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: 2 sons; Daniel Allan Parris and his wife Tammi; Gary P. Parris; 2 daughters: Donna J and her husband Henry Hegner; Tammy M. and her husband Steve Satzberg; and 1 sister Edith Bare; 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
Gene was preceded in death by 1 brother.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, on Friday March 15, 2013 from 11 am to 1 pm, when funeral services will be held. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania, Va.
