Geoffrey Chaucer Barksdale (Age 69) of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Mary Washington Hospital on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.  He is survived by his cherished wife of 51 years, Viola Barksdale; devoted father of Annie, Darrell, Kevin, and Davin Barksdale; grandfather of; Adriane, Jasmine, Ashleigh, Darrell, Dominique, Cedell, Gericho, Gisella, Mariah and Alina; great-grandfather of, Triniti; brother of; Evelyn Spooner and Willie Barksdale. He is preceded in death by his parents; Maria Dorsey Byrd and Luther James Barksdale and son; Maurice Barksdale.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mr. Barksdale's visitation at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA, on Friday, February 18th from 10 AM until his Going Home Service at 11 AM. Interment will  follow in the Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
