George "Clyde" Rogers, 74, of Locust Grove, passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. Clyde was born on April 23, 1944 to George Thomas and Georgia Mae (Dameron) Rogers in the Covington area, VA. He began working with his father in the woods, as a youngster, turning his experience into a life long career, becoming the owner of Rogers Logging Company. He married Mary Ann Massey on June 3, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2011 after 48 years of marriage. Clyde then married Cathy Sue Lloyd on July 31, 2016 and she survives. He was a member of the Virginia Forestry Assn. and the Virginia Dept. Of Forestry. His daughters report that Clyde was, " One of a Kind that put others first, loved his family and enjoyed working hard. He also was the life of the party." Survivors in addition to his wife are; three daughters; Rosa Seale (Eddie), Tamera Nelson (Larry), Crystal Nichols (Jim); four grandchildren, Megan (Seale) Bivins (David), Hunter Seale, Hayden Nichols, Chase Nichols; three great grandchildren, MacKenzie Mesimer, Austin Bivins, Emma Bivins. Visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be on Saturday June 23 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with interment following in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, officiated by Mr. Don Hughes. Casket bearers will be Drew Massey, Bobby Rodgers, Hunter Seale, Ronald Wolfrey, Sr. John Jones, Rob Ross and Ronald Wolfrey, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Wolfrey, John S. Wolfrey, Daniel Wolfrey and Donald McCleod. A Service of Rembrance will be held at Clyde and Cathy's home after the interment
